After bothering his parents on a level that could only be described as unreasonable, Jimmy’s parents finally submitted and bought him his first guitar. “I originally wanted to learn how to play bass, but then I heard the guitar “solo” in Nirvana’s In Bloom. The sound just blew me away and I never really looked back. I started with other alternative bands of the era, but quickly got bored and moved onto heavy metal and hard rock. I used to have this huge like 4” thick CD book that was full front and back with CDs from bands like Metallica, Guns n’ Roses, Pantera, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Iced Earth, White Zombie, and Testament. I would come home from school every day and just put on CDs and play along with them. I’m sure my parents and neighbors loved it.”
“I have always seemed to surround myself with some form of work dealing with pop-culture or creative things. I have worked at a movie store, comic shop, and then now have spent almost 10 years in the music retail business. It’s a pretty wonderful thing to surround yourself with the things you love. I’ve been very fortunate that I just sort of fall into these things.”
Although he spent years playing detuned guitars and shred solos you are now more likely to find him playing an acoustic guitar around town in the acoustic duo Beauty & the Beard. He does however keep his fire for electric going by slinging his Les Paul for Divine Ratio. He also recently ended a many year adventure with Everybody Loves Tequila with fellow Alpha offenders Micah and Walter.
Jimmy is a guitar, yoga, and beard enthusiast and is here to help you with any of your electric or acoustic guitar and amplifier needs and questions.
